UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA GOES ON PROTEST

"On the process of peaceful demonstration/
protest yesterday morning, The school
administrators Met us on the road and asked
us to open the classrooms b4 4pm And go
back to Class,if not they will ask security to
break the keys of locked classrooms, they also
threatened to rusticate Sug president and
other Sug officials. Out of fear, Right there,
the SUG officials called off the strike and
asked the students to return to class tomorrow
which is today ,so students got angry and got
dispersed.
In the night, around 7 and 8pm, the students
started agitating for riots ,and they took off,
breaking glasses of buildings, pulling down
Street light stands And others
Police came later in the night Wen most
things has been damaged.
Students pursued them away, the police in
retaliation shot tear gas in the atmosphere
around hostel areas, the thing was peppering
everybody, those that protested and those that
didn't.
Right now, there is fear in the school, no
lectures still. Most students are expecting
school to announce temporal vacation from
the school.
