HOW TO START OIL PLANTATION

Get a suitable land

Look for Lands from the East or West that is suitable for palm tree survival and proper yield.
WHAT TO DO FIRST? 

Get a good quality land in acres in a place that is motorable,

You first get a cleared land for planting then nurse your own palm, which demand a period of 14 months or you can get samples from Nigeria Institute for oil palm Research (NIFOR), they will help you analysis and recommend good sample like hybrid DXP, Tenera, Dura, buy1575 seeds from NIFOR at #15000 per pack each pack had 525 seeds. palm trees need to  be planted preferably at rainy season when it will have enough water in the soil for sustaining the young palm plant with proper spacing taking into cognizance grown period when the palm fronds will be spread over the place.

PROCEDURE FOR PEGGING 

Pegging must be done properly to ensure right measurement i.e spacing or distance of one palm tree to the other, if these precaution not taking it will result to less or low yield proper pegging measurement is for column or straight lines is 7.8meters between rows 9 meters pegs. 

APPLICATION OF FERTILIZER AND WEEDING:

NPK fertilizer should be applied for every 3 months, weeding should be done every 3 months towards the end of the raining season.
