CSC Eligibility for African Students (2026 Guide)

 Before you apply for CSC, check if you're eligible.



Basic Eligibility:

  • Non-Chinese citizen

  • In good health (mentally and physically)

  • Academic excellence

Age Requirements by Level:

  • Undergraduate: Under 25

  • Master's: Under 35

  • PhD: Under 40

  • General Scholar: Under 45

  • Senior Scholar: Under 50

Academic Requirements:

  • Undergraduate: High school diploma

  • Master's: Bachelor's degree

  • PhD: Master's degree

Language Requirements:

  • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 3 (UG) or Level 4 (PG)

  • English-taught programs: IELTS/TOEFL per university

What Disqualifies You:

  • Holding another Chinese government scholarship

  • Missing documents

  • Weak study plan

  • Applying after deadline

  • Incomplete physical examination form
